Gandhi & the Seven Blunders of Humanity

Gandhi wrote a note to his grandson three months before he was assassinated.

In October 1947, Gandhi listed out the seven blunders of humanity for his precious grandson:

Wealth without work.

Pleasure without conscience.

Knowledge without character.

Commerce without morality.

Science without humanity.

Religion without sacrifice.

Politics without principle.

I think this note to Gandhi’s son is also for you and me. Gandhi’s note is a star toward the true north.

As leaders, we have an incredible opportunity to create organizations that lean toward virtue while playing the game of capitalism.

I believe all of us are able to place bricks upon the foundation of virtue Gandhi dedicated his life to.

“We are the people we have been waiting for.” – Medicine Man

Business can be played as a long-term game with long-term people.

I think it’s a journey worth pursuing. I think it’s a mountain worth climbing.

Onward,

Matt
