What we're building toward 2.0

Three weeks ago I shared a framework of what we're building toward. Since putting pen to paper…I don't think it properly captured the high level points of operational leadership. So I added more nuance to get the entire high level approach. Trust & Inspire 2.0!

Two weeks ago, I did a reflection on the importance of the Vivid Vision. (1st step)

So Here's my revised more thoughtful paradigm of what we're building toward:

Blue = Can Change / Evolve

Red = Constant

1. VIVID VISION - where we're going

2. CORE VALUES - the behaviors of the organization. Clear ditch lines to establish your culture. Uphold the environment that allows the team to climb for the Vision.

3. SERVANT LEADERSHIP - Flip the org chart upside down just like the information age has flipped the industrial age. "How can I help?" Building toward the service of the Vision.

4. CORE FOCUS - Strategic Position that all operational initiatives support. Helps make it easier to say "no." Companies more often die from indigestion than starvation. Building deeper and wider moats while knowing how best to delight customers.

5.  EMBRACING AND - Striking the balance of profit AND conscience. It's not an "or" equation. If we don't figure it out, then who will? What a worthwhile pursuit.

6.  CORE PURPOSE - Understanding why the organization exists. Often referred to as the "north star." Life and business are hard. There will always be dips. The "why" behind the organization is the bedrock and foundation.

I think this framework is worth building toward. Day by day it's getting a little more clear. I think it's like sculpting a slab of rock into a statue. Keeping chipping away at the masterpiece of the journey.

Imagine the empowerment and the alignment if every single teammate was aware of how they can live into and support this framework!

Next week, I'll do a deeper dive into Core Values and what I've learned in our 19 months of implementing them into our business.

Onward,

Matt
